All that was Man’s glory vanished
The dusty facade crumbled to reveal
A Human mentality that can’t be changed
By time, technology, or the veneer of civility
Let the Cataclysm of Consciousness come
And lift this fog of ignorance
As the morning Sun lifts
The Myst from the Temple
All of our brightest moments
And our crowning advancements
Have happened inside our heart of hearts
Not in the factories and machines of our minds
Cast your truest desires to the fates
And be lifted up beyond the mundane
As the morning Sun lifts
The Myst from the Temple

We just got back from the Seaside REP Theatre in Seaside Florida not 0regon,
and saw a great one Man Christmas show staring Robert Vest. It was Splendid .
I don’t know which I am more impressed by, his sense of humor or his captivating
singing voice.
He is there tomorrow night as well.

Thanksgiving night at Blue Orleans.
Well what are you gonna do? sit on the couch and fall asleep or go over to Blue Orleans Juke joint
In Santa Rosa Beach Florida and listen to Mr. “G” or Gator as most people call him around here.
And since I live just up the street from the place I like to stop in and listen to a set or two from the Blue Orleans Blues house band.
Gator Plays Keyboards and sings. How about that.
The rest of the band :
On Guitar/Vocals - Duke Bardwell
On Bass Guitar - Gooner McGee
On Drums - Binky Buckwalter
This is as close as you are going to get to Memphis style Blues in these parts.
With some Cajun spice thrown in for good measure of course.
Come to think of it These guys now have the Closest think to a real Bar with a Bar band On 30 A (18 miles of the best road anywhere south of Highway 98 in South Walton County, Florida).
What about the food you ask? I’m getting to that.
I like to eat on the light and healthy side of the menu.
I like the veggie Omelet with egg whites only.
The New Orleans style famous Beignets are awesome with that dark black coffee
And the Pancake Blues are good with a side of fruit (byom) bring your own Maple if you like the real thing
And the Art hanging on the walls is very authentic swamp style with Fish and Alligator motifs and it’s for sale.
So check in and hang out with a great group of locals and visitors.

Local artist Rolland Day’s work which can be seen at his salon and studio in Seagrove, as well as Various other hot spots on 30A, is distinctive for his more modern style and bold use of geometry and color to invoke emotional response in the viewer. He likes to work on large pieces which can add a real splash of style to a large room. One of his works that caught my eye recently is a abstract of a New York Cityscape with just enough definition of place to allow the viewer to make it his or her own New York. Rolland has a dedicated group of clients which includes Bert and I and so I speak from a measured level of appreciation of his contribution to the local cultural scene on 30A. We will be adding some images of Rolland’s artwork within a few days.

I just had a great glass of port over at Ceruleans in WaterColor.
It is called Quinta do Crasto and could only get better if combined with a good Cigar according to Chuck who always looks for new vintages so things don’t get to dull .
Mixing it up as they say.

I am not sure if the reader is aware, but I live in the picture perfect community of Seaside Florida. I am also one of the rare owners here, I live in this adorable community FULL TIME. My home is a unique loft style apartment located on the top floor of a three story commercial building and is situated basically in the heart of the Ruskin Artist Colony of Seaside.
Usually every morning, I walk down my stairs and head to the gym, which is a short four block walk. As I was walking the other day, I noticed that one of the other commercial buildings had some new art in the window, and beyond that, I could see an artist with a cup of coffee, dabbing away at his easel. I could not help but stop and gawk, and while doing so, he caught my profile with his peripheral vision. He stopped what he was doing, and motioned for me to enter his studio. This is a young artist, who is from Washington D.C. and has been fortunate enough to meet a Gallery owner here in Seaside called Eileen West.
Eileen has a wonderful gallery located in Seaside’s Ruskin Place, and she specializes in Folk Art. This young artist, along with a few others, will be visiting and living in Seaside for the next few weeks. You must get over to Eileen’s Gallery and see what exciting new Folk Art she is now showing.

Last night, during the wicked storm that passed through our area, I was extremely surprised to see that the Santa Rosa Beach Club located in Dune Allen Florida, had a parking lot that was overflowing with cars and spilling onto Scenic Hwy 30A. Had I not been exhausted, I would have joined the crowd for a glass of wine and caught the performance of David Seering (the piano man). This unique establishment on the beach, was formed years ago by retired military families who had a vision and love of the area, however I will have more of that later, but now about last night.
